What a disappointment! After sticking to the 90 days of Shein challenge for almost two months (with a short break in the middle), this week was a complete disaster. 

I live on the West Coast of Scotland — the wettest part of the UK — and this week has been torrential rain interspersed with spells of not-so-torrential rain. It’s been extremely wet. 

And my small capsule closet simply wasn’t up to it. 

First casualty was the shoes, which got soaked at the beginning of the week and took three days to dry out. I had to get first my other shoes out of storage and finally resort to welly boots. 

I left my Shein trench coat at my mother’s two weeks ago, and without any outerwear had to get out my super-waterproof New Look mac instead. 

Even so, every time I left the house, my socks, trousers and usually the ends of my sleeves were soaked as well. 

So for the first time I’ve been mixing in clothes from other brands in with my tiny Shein capsule. I had to get out leggings, trousers, sock, t-shirts… 

But rather than give up, I decided to carry on. The weather is a little better today, and I’m hoping my laundry will finally dry and allow me to get back to the challenge properly in a day or two.
