Day 60: How many times have I worn each item in my tiny Shein capsule wardrobe?

It’s day 60 of my 90 days of Shein challenge, where I wear only a tiny capsule wardrobe of clothes from fast fashion giant Shein to see if fast fashion really is disposable.

I’m now two-thirds of the way through the challenge so it seemed like a good time to check in on the most (and least) worn items.

This might be really obvious but the things I wore the most times are those I only have one of. So I’ve worn the nightdress — or as Shein calls it the “sleep dress” — 60 times, ie every single day of the challenge.

Luckily as it’s summer, I manage to wash it out during the day and it’s dry by evening.

Second, with 55 wears, the sports shoes. I was wearing these every day until recently, but now the weather has become very wet, I’ve had to leave them to dry for a day (and wear another pair of non-Shein shoes) several times.

The backpack racked up 46 wears — well below 60 because it’s been out of action several times while I mend it. I love the pattern, but the fabric and sewing simply aren’t up to daily use.

Rounding the four most worn items is the pink bra, on 45 wears. I started out with two bras but managed to lose one a few weeks into the challenge. As with the nightdress, I have to wash it out often, and I’m lucky that it dries quickly.

The four next most worn items — all over 20 wears — are the trench coat, denim cargo pants, leggings and long-sleeve t-shirt.

When it comes to the least worn items, I’m embarrassed that I’ve never managed to wear the earrings, in fact I’m not entirely sure where they are. I also only wore the necklace four times.

The two pairs of polyester knickers had only three and four wears respectively. I always choose one of the three cotton pairs if they are clean.

Finally, I wore the stripy skirt five times, mainly because I find the waistband incredibly tight and uncomfortable. Strange as it’s the same size (XL) as the denim cargo pants, which are quite loose.
