Day 78: Things I added to my wardrobe during the 90 days of Shein challenge

One thing I liked about the 90 days of Shein challenge — where I wore only a small selection of Shein clothes for 90 days — was that I didn’t have to agonise over whether to buy anything new. I bought the clothes at the beginning of the 90 days, and those 10 garments were all I had to wear over the summer.

(Exceptions were the few weeks I suspended the challenge when I had to travel for work, and the time when very wet weather coincided with me leaving several garments at friends’ and family’s houses.)

Normally I put together a selection of more or less what I want to wear for a season (most of it from my existing closet) but I do tend to panic at points and decide I NEED to add a specific garment to my wardrobe. This didn’t happen this summer.

Still, I did add a few things to my wardrobe, most of them clothes I spotted in second hand shops and couldn’t resist buying… I didn’t add anything new.

First purchase was a pair of Josef Siebel black sandals. I spotted them in a charity shop in Edinburgh. Perfect fit, very good condition, only £8. They had to come home with me. I wore them most days when I was on the hiatus from the challenge, and plan on getting them out next summer too.

After that I was pretty good until I was visiting friends in Tunbridge Wells, where there are some really excellent charity shops. I bought a needlecord midi-dress from White Stuff, a teal dress from Uniqlo and an LK Bennet silk top.

Finally, earlier this week I bought a brown merino wool sweater from my local Red Cross shop.

I also added two hand me downs when my mum was clearing out her closet: a black and red reversible jacket and a Pure Collection linen top.

I really can’t wait to wear these once the challenge comes to an end…
